Since 1869, this office has enjoyed a long history of community service in Nashville. Today, The Pruett Financial Group continues that proud tradition. Our financial representatives and staff members live and work in this community and understand the importance of active community involvement. Many provide volunteer leadership for fundraisers and serve on boards and committees of numerous worthwhile organizations.

The Pruett Financial Group is a proud sponsor of The Frist Center Kid’s Club, the Nashville Symphony and Junior Achievement

Kid’s Club at The Frist Center for the Visual Arts is a wonderful, free program of art classes and activities designed for 5–10 year olds. Held each Saturday afternoon, parents can enjoy the museum while their young artists have fun at Kid’s Club.

The Grammy Award-winning Nashville Symphony serves as a national and international ambassador for the citizens of Tennessee as one of the most active recording orchestras in the country. Housed in a new, world-class Symphony Hall, this new landmark has become a cultural center in downtown Nashville.

Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee is celebrating its 50th year in Nashville. Volunteers from the business community help educate young people about business, economics and free enterprise through the interactive programs offered by JA.

Building Community – A Family Volunteer Program

In February, 2008, the Pruett Financial Group was honored with the prestigious Community Impact Award from United Way of Metropolitan Nashville for an innovative family volunteer initiative. The Building Community Program at Pruett Financial engages the entire family in volunteer opportunities. In 2007, the volunteers hosted a Valentine’s party for 75 children at St. Luke’s Family Resource Center; a Mother’s Day cookout for 25 family members at Safe Haven Family Shelter; and a back-to-school backpack drive for 50 students at Bethlehem Family Resource Center.

Financial Literacy Community Education for Kids

In 2004, The Pruett Financial Group introduced a new financial literacy community education program, called Making Perfect Cents. Financial Representatives and staff members from our office volunteer their time to make presentations to young children, using a special, 4-slotted piggy bank, called Penny the Pig. The bank helps teach young children about the four ways they can use money – to Spend, Save, Donate and Invest. We work in partnership with the YMCA of Middle Tennessee to offer this outreach effort to groups of children in the Y’s after-school program.

Ron Knox Receives Top Honor in National Community Service Award Program

$25,000 Grant Helps Fuel Expansion of YMCA Urban Services School Program

We are proud that Financial Representative Ronald F. (Ron) Knox Jr. was named the “Most Exceptional Volunteer” in Northwestern Mutual’s National 2004 Community Service Award (CSA) program. The annual program, which is open to the more than 7,900 financial representatives of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, recognizes exemplary volunteer involvement and dedication to charitable organizations and philanthropic projects.

Ron was selected for his outstanding contributions to the YMCA of Middle Tennessee. In honor of Ron’s achievements, a $25,000 grant from the Northwestern Mutual Foundation was presented to the YMCA to support the expansion of the Y’s Urban Services School of Academics & Athletics, a year-round program that serves 150 deserving boys and girls, most of whom live in inner-city neighborhoods.

Ron is just one example of the volunteer leadership provided by Pruett Financial Group financial representatives. In the last 11 years, we have had nine Community Service Award winners from our offices in Middle and East Tennessee.
