Chad Greer is one of those rare people who knew exactly what career he wanted even before he started college. “I went into college knowing I wanted to sell insurance,” says Chad Greer. “I always wanted to be in business for myself.” While attending the University of Mississippi, Chad did an internship with Northwestern Mutual in Oxford. “It was a great program. I got my licenses, trained, learned about the business and actually started calling on prospects while I was still in school.”
After Chad graduated, the network office in Oxford offered him a contract, but he wanted to start his business in Nashville. “All my relatives and family’s friends were Northwestern Mutual clients and spoke very highly of the Nashville operation,” he says. Chad contacted the Nashville office and began the interview process. He liked everything he saw and was asked to join the organization.
Chad promptly started building his referral base. “I went to everybody I knew and asked who they would contact if they were starting this business,” he says. One of the keys to his success, Chad says, is the fact that “I try to market myself constantly, and I tell as many people as possible what I do.”
Since he began his career, Chad hasn’t looked back. “At the The Pruett Financial Group, if you are offered a contract and can afford to cut back for about a year, this is a tremendous business opportunity.”
Chad’s advice to new financial representatives: “Go on as many joint calls as you can. You learn the business from a pro, and it’s a faster financial start.”
